Hello all,

Today was my first day volunteering at Arise! and I already have an idea of how I'd like to use the space. With your permission, of course.

My fascination with hidden knowledge is something that I apparently share with thousands of YouTubers and hundreds of credible authors. There is a humongous community of fringe researchers, alternate historians, and well-connected insiders who tell stories that, if real, could explode all our notions of what matters in our present and what's impending in our future. Heck, a careful reading of Carl Sagan would blow your mind in the context of the last five years.

I want to have a book club for things way more Far Out than that. I put in a special order for a few books that you can check out to give you an idea. I've made a list of 75 authors from whom I could suggest a book to the club. Other people can bring their own favorites, but mine include historians, economists, mythologists, theologists, occultists, physicists, prophets, fringe journalists, conspiracy theorists, ufologists, and ALARMISTS!

The idea is that we'd decide on a book, pitch in the money to buy each person a copy, pick it up when it comes in, come back a week later and discuss what we read. I'd hope everyone does some independent research into the credibility of the author and his or her arguments. Then we can discuss whether we believe it or not, and if so, what can we do about it?

It's an idea. I'm going to try to make it to the collective meeting so I can bring it up there.
